The Secret To Making Lots of Money

The secret to making lots of money that is common to all great marketers and entrepreneurs is based upon one common key ingredient to all their marketing and selling offers. The secret to making lots of money is to delight your customers by offering a offering real or perceived value to the customer that is much more than the actual price of your product. In other words, the key secret ingredient is to over-deliver on perceived value to the customer which translates to the secret to making lots of money.

Once your customer perceives the value of your offer as being a “deal” compared to the price of the actual offer, you will not only make one sale, but continue to make additional sales to your customer over and over from you. The secret to making lots of money is in the generation of repeat sales to the same customer again and again many times over on even higher priced offers without spending any additional money or effort on advertising. By differentiating yourself and your offers from the rest of the competition by adding value to your offers, you are in effect creating an unfair advantage in the market by using the secret to making lots of money.

There are many ways to offer great value to your customers. One of the secrets to making lots of money is to offer value to your customers through providing great insights and tips surrounding training related to your offer that helps solve their problems or concerns.

Online Advertising and Reputation Management

Nowadays the entire planet is going crazy about online advertising. Whether it be search engine marketing, social media, banner ads, or email marketing, everybody wants a piece of the pie. This all makes sense; while the dot.com boom may be a aspect of the distant past, we are entering a new equilibrium where every business that does not have a robust internet presence is essentially running a marathon with only one leg. However, with all the madness about online advertising, a variety of persons seem to have forgotten one of the core components of any company: their reputation. Online advertising leads to very specific problems when it comes to reputation management, and here are a few things that you need to be aware of.

First of all, you need to remember that, if you’re talking on the internet, you’re talking to everyone. While you can be extremely specific when it comes to directing your advertising toward certain demographics, you need to understand that whatever you say can, and probably will, be seen by other demographics as well. If you were to make an advertisement which is geared toward a certain political leaning, expect persons with the opposite views to see it as well.

Secondly, you need to keep in mind that, while you can delete things, nothing is ever really removed from the internet. Websites are cached for an extremely long time, and, if you were to say something negative, you can be certain that somebody somewhere has taken a screenshot to post. So, while you need to be quick, you also need to make sure that you have no mistakes.

Thirdly, try to remember with online advertising; that when something does go boom, the mistake can spread in a matter of seconds. Whereas you once had at least a day to get your ducks in a row before something went to press, you now have literally no time at all. You need to be continuously vigilant-and have a fantastic crisis communications plan in place-so that if something does become a problem, you’ll know what you should do.

Finally, and this is most important of all, you have to remember that any mistake you do make can pass just as quickly with reputation management. Everything on the internet is on fast-forward and folk have very brief attention spans. A seemingly crippling incident could be forgotten in moments. Therefore, while it may seem that horrible things are happening all the time, you have to remember that they will be gone just as soon as they came.

Ad Campaigns That Miss the Mark & How An Online Marketing Firm Can Help

Every year after I watch the Super Bowl, a renewed interest in modern advertising awakens in me. While, today, the Internet has ushered in the age of the online marketing firm and social media agency as an effective means to spread brand awareness – let’s face it, commercials are still fun. But the problem I find year after year is that commercials aren’t very effective anymore. In fact, while some commercials are funny and others are very aesthetically pleasing, many seem to miss the mark completely in terms of getting a message across. These are a few of the ad campaigns that I’ve always felt fell flat.

1. The mysterious Lexus holiday jingle: This year during the holidays, I began to worry that I’ve been accidentally living under a rock for years. When Lexus started their holiday commercial series this year, I found that I never had any idea what the commercial was for until the very end. As the jingle begins to play in each commercial, the person receiving a Lexus seems to understand immediately what it means. I later found out that many people couldn’t place the tune that Lexus seems to believe is so iconic. Perhaps the company should have contemplated using a social media agency to turn the jingle into a viral sensation before releasing the commercials and leaving us clueless.

2. The Nike slogan: I know that it’s been around for a long time, but I’ve always been confused about what Nike’s signature “Just do it” is telling me to do. I’m reminded of the time my mother used the old line on me me: “If all the other kids at school jumped off a bridge, would you think it was a good idea and do it, too?” It tempted me to answer “Well, Mom, Nike said don’t think – just do it.” Like any good slogan, it’s short and seemingly straightforward but still just vague enough to seem to apply to everyone. But as a real stickler for detail and elaboration – it’s always bothered me.

3. The many faces of Geico Auto Insurance: I was so glad when Liz Lemon (Tina Fey on NBC’s 30 Rock) expressed her annoyance over the many mascots and spokespeople for Geico. It made me feel less alone in my dislike for the ad campaigns. The gecko was cute, the cavemen were amusing at first, the stack of money with the googly eyes was strange, and the “fake Rod Sterling guy” was creepy. Now, to add even one more into this hodgepodge of advertising indecision, there is also a pig on a zip line. Unlike the people at Geico, the people at a good online marketing firm could have focused on one unified brand message. I guess this is why I’m partial to Flo the Progressive Insurance girl.

These are just a few of my examples of how ad campaigns with the best intentions can backfire and actually baffle and irritate their target audience. Don’t make the same blunders other campaigns have before. If your business isn’t sure which direction to take their newest ad campaign, think about an online marketing firm that also focuses on social media. Together, a company and the marketing firm can work to find a unified brand message and spread it in the most efficient way possible.
